Tracing the laptop

A simple shot that i tried as a part of the light photography. It was the blue color of the charging cable of the laptop that i used to trace its outline in the complete darkness. Opened the shutter for some time to properly capture the outline.

What i liked about the image:

  • Color used and the outline of the laptop
  • Proper shape giving the correct impression of the laptop

What i didn’t like:

  • Thin trails of the light at some places

The Flower Pot: Firecracker

Clicked the pic during Diwali festival and displays a burning flower pot in full throttle.

What i liked about the image:

  • The colors in the sparkles
  • Properly captured image before the dark background

What i didn’t like:

  • Would have loved the image more if the pot would have been captured as a whole, right from the ground.

Colors of Diwali

Pic of the sky that i clicked during the famous Indian festival Deepavali. Tried to capture the skyshots in the sky with prolonged exposure so that the trail of the skyshot can be properly captured. However missed the tripod.

  • Colors in the sky after the fireworks
  • Trail of the skyshot

What i didn’t like:

  • Little movement of the frame because of the lack of the tripod.

Color of Love

Clicked this pic at the candle lighting event at my work place. Placed this red candle in the foreground having other candles in the background to have a circular bokeh of the candle lights in the back. Selective Coloring in PS.

Traffic Trails

Clicked this pic when i was trying to capture the traffic trail lights. Went over to this bridge near my place, stood there for quite a long time and shot this when the traffic was heavy.

What i liked about this image:

  • Able to catch the traffic trail lights both for the coming and going traffic

What i didn’t like:

  • Use of tripod would have made the image sharper and clearer.

I Love You

Part of Light Photography in which i used a torch light to draw the letters and heart symbol in air myself. Kept the camera on floor, a little tilted to cover entire portion of me and used the following settings to capture the image.

  • A perfect shape of the heart would have been better

Lighting up candle to spread love

Shot at candle lighting event at my office. Tried to capture the heart shaped bokeh of the candles placed in background.

What i liked about the image:

  • The sharp and vivid color of the candle
  • Heart shaped bokeh of the candles placed in background

What i didn’t like:

  • Improper heart shape Bokeh
  • Little tilt in the stand of the candle

lighting the sky: Skyshot cracker

The pic was clicked during our festival Deepavali, trying to capture the sky lit by the skyshot crackers.

Adding colors to the otherwise dull sky

ISO-80, 6 mm focal length and Center Weighted Average metering mode

What i liked about the image:

  • Perfectly created pattern of the sparkles
  • Sharply focused lights

What i didn’t like:

Nothing as of now, but there is a scope for improvement, for sure 🙂
